Srinagar: Get ready to witness a breathtaking display of nature’s beauty as Asia’s largest Tulip garden gears up to welcome visitors on March 23. With nearly 1.7 million tulips showcasing 73 varieties, this year’s spectacle promises to be a mesmerizing experience for all.
Commissioner Secretary of Floriculture, Sheikh Fayaz, announced the grand opening, expressing anticipation for a massive influx of visitors from around the globe.
Last year, the garden attracted a record number of tourists, earning the department accolades from the World Book of Records for its diverse tulip varieties and high visitor count.
Fayaz revealed, “This year, we are introducing five new varieties, enriching the total collection to 73. These additions will undoubtedly enhance the garden’s allure, offering visitors an enchanting experience.”
With groundwork already completed, approximately 1.7 million tulips are poised to bloom, painting the landscape with vibrant hues.
To ensure a seamless experience for visitors, the department has expanded the parking lot by an additional four kanals, reflecting their commitment to facilitating a hassle-free visit. Recognized by the World Book of Records, the Tulip Garden stands as a source of pride for the Floriculture department, significantly boosting tourism in Jammu and Kashmir.
Anticipating a surge in tourist footfall compared to previous years, preparations are underway to accommodate the expected increase in visitors.
